Throughout the years, I've taken the time to reserve my handles (usernames) on various platforms, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, all of it, and thankfully I have all the vanity URLs I could ask for--including YouTube's original vanity URL setup.
Over these years I've noticed and had a strong feeling social media platforms, especially the centralized ones, were going to take away from the originality which made the Internet cool to me. Hardly anyone I know now has their own website, blog, journal or photo storage for public display. Most of my peers, and nonpeers are sadly locked into platforms such as Facebook, which now is apparently scanning private marked photos into AI--just evil - and webmastering has become a lost skill.
If you happen to be reading this and would like to learn how to create your own website either from scratch, or not, let me know.
I encourage everyone to get back to a more original, decentralized Internet. I'm tired of seeing the same 10 websites!
